PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPY
Also known as pelvic health physiotherapy. This specialized branch of physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of various conditions in the pelvic area. The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that attach to the pelvic bone and tailbone. They support the bladder, uterus, prostate and rectum. Dysfunction of these muscles can result in chronic pelvic pain and incontinence. Pelvic floor dysfunction is assessed and diagnosed through the use of external and/or internal manual techniques to evaluate pelvic floor muscle function.
Pelvic health issues are common but can be treated.
